Synergie Belgium NV (hereinafter referred to as “Synergie”), registered under VAT number 0458 551 563 and with its registered office at Desguinlei 88-90, 2018 Berchem, processes personal data (as further described below) in the course of its activities, including the personal data of individuals who browse Synergie’s web pages.

This Privacy Policy aims to inform all concerned natural persons ("you, your") about how Synergie collects and uses your personal data and the rights you have to control this usage. This policy also describes the obligations that Synergie undertakes to comply with the principles of European Regulation No. 2016/679, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This policy does not apply to third-party websites that may be referenced on Synergie’s websites.

Scope

This policy outlines the principles and guidelines for the protection of your personal data, including personal data collected on Synergie's websites.

Synergie collects personal data that is provided online (including via email), on paper, or orally (during in-person or telephone conversations); this policy applies regardless of the method of collection or processing.

Collected data

To access certain features of the websites and to assist you in your job search, you are required to provide Synergie with certain personal data. The collected personal data may include your first and last name, postal address, email address, phone numbers, login and password, career-related information, financial information (bank details), IP address, and other personal data relevant to the purposes outlined below. However, the collected personal data is limited to what is strictly necessary, in accordance with the principle of data minimization.

Children's data

Synergie does not target an audience of children under the age of 15 and therefore does not collect personal data from them. If this is not the case, Synergie commits to obtaining consent from the holder of parental authority for the processing of such data, ensuring its protection, and treating it as sensitive information.

Method of Collection and Purposes

This Privacy Policy applies regardless of the method of collection (online, on paper, or orally during an in-person or telephone conversation). In the case of online collection, this Privacy Policy is displayed on Synergie's websites, and in the case of oral or paper-based collection, you will be informed of its existence.

Personal data is collected for specific functions of the websites and for Synergie's activities, namely:

  • The management of recruitments
  • The management of career development and training
  • The management of payroll administration
  • The management of relationships with clients and suppliers
  • For marketing or communication purposes
  • The management of the security of property and individuals

Processing and storage conditions of personal data

All collected personal data is retained for a limited period, depending on the purpose of the processing, and only for the duration prescribed by law.

Legal Bases for Processing

Synergie processes certain personal data based on:

  • Performance of the contract: You indicate that you wish to be assisted by Synergie, either directly or via the VDAB database, where you make your CV available for employment mediation.
  • Legitimate interest: For publicly available information (such as LinkedIn).
  • Consent: For processing references.

International Transfer and Protection of Personal Data

If you access Synergie's websites from a country outside the European Union where the laws on data collection, use, and transfer differ from European regulations, you agree that your personal data may be transferred to the European Union as part of your use of the websites.

If Synergie determines that a third party is using or transferring personal data in violation of this Privacy Policy or applicable laws, Synergie will take all reasonable measures to prevent or stop such use or transfer.

Transfer of Personal Data to Third Parties

Synergie may transfer your personal data to third parties in the following cases:

  2. For the performance of a contract or based on legitimate interest

    • Transfer to another temporary employment agency with which Synergie collaborates for a mutual client.

These transfers may take place via the internet, by mail, or through another method that Synergie deems appropriate and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Transfer of personal data within the Synergie Group

Synergie may also transfer your personal data within the Synergie Group, including affiliated companies and subsidiaries, for the execution of its services and administrative purposes. This is always done in compliance with the GDPR and with appropriate safeguards to protect your data.

Rights of Data Subjects under the GDPR

Synergie implements special protection measures to ensure that personal data is used exclusively for the purposes mentioned above and to maintain its accuracy and up-to-date status.

You have the right to access your personal data stored by Synergie. Additionally, you have the right to rectification, updating, portability, deletion, or restriction of processing of your personal data.

When you exercise your right to data deletion, Synergie will remove all your personal data, except for social and/or tax-related documents that we are legally required to retain. This processing is carried out in compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.

Although your data has been correctly deleted from our systems, we would like to inform you that our offices may still come across your profile on certain job sites (such as VDAB, Forem, Actiris, Indeed, …) if you have authorized these platforms to share your CV with partners such as temporary employment agencies. Additionally, your profile may remain visible based on your public profile on platforms such as LinkedIn.

Effective Date and Revisions

This Privacy Policy came into effect on May 25, 2018, and was last updated on February 20, 2025. Synergie reserves the right to modify or amend this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with legal requirements, operational needs, or changes in processing activities. Any updates will be published on our website.
