Job description?

Our client, a full-service provider for fastening technologies in the automotive industry, is looking for an experienced sales engineer for their Headquarter in Genk.

Being part of the international sales team the aim of this role is to secure an excellent service to existing customers and develop new business in Europe.

Your tasks are among others:

  • You work on customer segmentation: identify and categorize customers by strategic importance and growth potential
  • You use data analytics to understand customer behaviour and preferences.
  • You will renew relationships with existing customers work with them to understand their needs and provide tailored offers.
  • You investigate cross selling and upselling potential.
  • You analyse the request for quotation from the customer and be in close contact with our purchasing department in order to prepare and present the offers to the customers. You act as the liaison between this supply base and the internal departments and will give the maximum to service the customers.
  • Revision and negotiation of customer contracts is also part of this job.
  • Implementation and follow-up of new customer projects are another interesting part of this job. In case of a new partnership you will support in implementing the operational plan.

What are we looking for?

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry is required
  • Technical interest is required, mechanical or material knowledge is a plus
  • You have a very good knowledge of English, knowledge of Dutch is an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality
  • Strong presentation, selling and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to do administrative work
  • Proven history of personal initiative, efficiency, attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of ERP software, preferably SAP is a plus
